On 28 March 2023, the Federal Court overturned the conventional approach to rostering employees on public holidays. As a result of the decision, employers must “request” employees work a public holiday before they are required to work the holiday. A failure to request that the public holiday be worked will render the working of the holiday unlawful and in breach of the Fair Work Act.

On July 1st 2023, the Superannuation Guarantee will be 11% ( a rise of 0.5%)
