Like many businesses in the hospitality, tourism and events industry, 2020 brought difficult times to Funlab. With doors closed to their famous venues such as Holey Moley and Strike and 1600 staff members out of work, they realised they needed to get innovative to survive. Launching a ‘fun-in-isolation’ calendar of events over Zoom, the team got together to play trivia, do cocktail and food making classes and workouts. Realising what a hit this was and with restrictions ongoing, the team decided to launch a host of virtual products for the public that could replace a normal work function.
From 24 virtual events in June, they are now running 100’s of virtual events a month! Funlab are a great example for us all of how it’s possible to turn crisis into opportunity.
